Volunteer Firefighters, EMTs and Driver Pump Operators

The Stony Point Volunteer Fire Company is actively seeking volunteer firefighters, EMTs and driver pump operators. To volunteer in our community, you don’t need any prior experience or training. All of the training and certifications will be provided to you free of charge by the department. If you have been curious about becoming a volunteer firefighter, EMT or driver pump operator in our community, please contact membership@spvfc.org, and our membership committee will guide you through the process step-by-step.

Joining our organization is simple and easy! 

Application Process

Upon contacting the membership committee, you will receive the application and supporting documents. They will assist you in setting up your medical physical and background check. You will then be invited to a crew night for a ride-along. This will give you time to meet the members, learn about how the station works and even run calls with the crews. Applicants are encouraged to do multiple ride-alongs on various crew nights.

Once your physical and background check are completed, you will be invited to one of our monthly brigade meetings where the brigade will vote on your status to become a probationary member. 

After the voting is completed, you will be assigned a crew night, issued a uniform and personal protective equipment, and start your career with our department.
