College Student, Volunteer Firefighter, alex Soucy
Firefighter Alex Soucy finds that volunteering with Stony Point Volunteer Fire Company has been a good first step in pursuit of the field of medicine. Alex is a full-time student at PVCC working on his undergraduate degree with a plan to major in nursing at the University of Virginia, Alex has been with us since this past summer. Being a volunteer firefighter and EMT runs in the Soucy family, as his father is an advanced EMT and firefighter in the Waynesboro/Staunton area. A resident of nearby Forest Lakes, Alex is an Albemarle High School alum who ran track and played football during his time there. He likes that SPVFC is different than some of the bigger stations in the area in that it has allowed him to develop more connections with the people in Stony Point as well as around the station house while also giving him valuable hands-on experience as he pursues his nursing degree. When he’s not studying or hanging out here at the station, he can be found hanging out, playing his guitar. While he describes himself as just an ordinary kid, we find his enthusiastic energy an excellent addition to our company.
